The week before Christmas was taken up with the usual festive events.

Carol Singing. On the Tuesday morning, parents and carers were invited along to a special performance of carols.

Wednesday Lunchtime. There was a full house for the Nursery Christmas Dinner. Staff and children sat down together to share a full feast.

Thursday Afternoon: A Christmas Party for present and past children from the Nursery. We were lucky to have over 45 children along with parents. It was very strange that some of the older children who were re-visiting were quite shy at first - before they met old friends and got into the swing of the party. There was a fancy dress theme taken from the song "The Twelve Days of Christmas".

Annual Firework Display

We had a successful firework display on November 5th. It was the 400th anniversary of Guy Fawkes attempt to blow up the Houses of Parliament. We were very fortunate in that the forecast for rain to start at 4 pm and continue all night did not materialise. The atmosphere was damp and this meant that it was quite difficult to light the fireworks.

There was a good turn out from the nursery and community in general. Many of the families of children who have left the nursery came along.

As always, we bought the fireworks from BestBuys in Wellingborough: they have an excellent choice at very good prices. Our 2 finale fireworks were long lasting single ignition ones, which lasted about 5 minutes in total. We did start off with our small fountains and sparks at first, building up to the bigger and slightly noisier ones at the end. The display lasted about 45 minutes. Thanks to Freddie and Scot for setting them off.
